AUSTRALIA
Welcome to Bazmark Film 2 Ply Ltd and our latest film project "AUSTRALIA". We
will be filming in and around Bowen from mid May till the end of June 2007.
Whether you have worked in a film acted before or not isn't important, what is
important is that when you DO work you understand what to expect from us and
what we expect from you, Please read all the information below and KEEP THIS
FORM so you can check it when you are called for work.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
We have the difficult job of choosing the right people to fit the roles. If you
are chosen, someone from the Extras Dept will call you This could happen from
between late April until late June. Please be patient. Just because you haven't
heard straight away doesn't mean we don't want you!
WHEN YOU ARE BOOKED TO WORK
If we book you to work, we might ask you to come and have a costume fitting
There will be lots of forms to fill in so you will need to bring your Tax File
Number. Bring the bank account details where you want your pay to go. Bring the
BSB (six digits) and Account Number and Name, Bring the name and number of your
Superannuation fund if you have one. Don't worry if you haven't, we'll sort it
out We will tell you at the fitting where & when to come to work.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT WORK You will be given a form to fill in An artist salary
voucher (this is your payslip) you will be required to fill this in each day you
work. You must fill this form in to be paid. You have officially 'SIGNED ON',
People called Assistant Directors (A.D's) will oversee you on the day you work
with us, LISTEN carefully to them and try to do what they ask as QUIETLY and
efficiently as possible. Please put ALL RUBBISH IN THE BINS PROVIDED, do not
leave ANY litter anywhere, Smoking is in designated areas only.
DURING THE DAY
To put a camera, light, actors & EXTRAS in place & be ready to film takes a lot
longer than you think You may have to wait to be used, or stand in one spot or
area for a long time, so bring something to read to keep you occupied.
Sometimes, things take longer than expected to set up, or things go wrong, and
everything is put back. When this happens you maybe asked to work anhour or two
longer than anticipated When you accept to work on "Australia" we expect you
will be prepared to work until we say you have finished for the day (this does
not apply to children). IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH TIME COMMITMENTS PLEASE
SAY SO WHEN YOU ARE BEING BOOKED.
AT THE END OF THE DAY
The AD will tell you when you have finished for the day. IMMEDIATELY return any
COSTUME or PROPS to the person who gave it to you. Go to the AD who will then
tick your name and note the time you finish and you are 'WRAPPED'.
YOUR PAY
You will be paid at the minimum Actor's Equity rate for country extras, If you
eat a meal with us, the time you have for the meal break is NOT paid by us
(usually 45mins). if you are required for a wardrobe fitting you will be paid
for 2.5 hours. This will be paid to you in your first day /week's pay. You will
be paid directly into your bank account. It will take about 10 to14 working days
for youto receive payment. You must have a TAX FILE NUMBER to work with us. If
you do not have a TFN you will be taxed at the prescribed Government rate of 49%
