ABC North Queensland Radio Interview -

On 17 May 2007, the breakfast presenter of 630 ABC North Queensland, Michael Clarke, was lucky enough to interview Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman in Bowen. The interview lasted around a minute and a half, and we can hear that the stars are excited about being in town.

Michael - "ABC local radio from Townsville, how are you enjoying your time in Bowen?"

Hugh - "Local radio Townsville? You've had a bit of a trip!"

Michael - "Oh, only 2 hours."

Hugh - "Oh, is it?"

Michael - "2 hours to Townsville, come and visit us."

Hugh - "I'm on it. Well I've still gotta really... I haven't had a good chance to look around here yet."

Michael - "What are your impressions of Bowen, Hugh?"

Hugh - "Oh, it's beautiful. The people are fantastic and it's a beautiful part of the world. Just really... I'm excited to be here, mate."

Michael - "You're welcome to be here."

Hugh - "Thank you very much."

Michael - "Nicole, ABC local radio from North Queensland. How are you finding your shooting in Bowen?"

Nicole - "Really good." *laughs*

Michael - "Have you been to Bowen before?"

Nicole - "I haven't, no. But my husband has played here."

Michael - "Has he?"

Nicole - "Yeah, he played here years and years ago at the Dennison. So, he's back, and it's lovely."

Michael - "What are you hoping to get up too over the next 6 weeks or so when you have a bit of time off, because you're working very hard."

Nicole - "Yeah, I've got a tight schedule. They've got me working about 13, 14 hours a day, so I go home and I go to sleep, and I wake up at 5am and I'm back here, but it's nice. And on the weekends we get Sunday off so, we travel around."

Michael - "Well, it's nice to have you in North Queensland, have a great time."

Nicole - "And I've had very good fish and chips."

Michael - "You've had the fish and chips?"

Nicole - "Oh yeah, every night so far! Big fan!"

Michael - "Good on you Nicole."

Nicole - "Thank you, thank you. I'll be coming to the pub. I plan on doing that."

Female audience member - "Well, we'll see you there."
