Broken Hill film scouting considered a success
The organisers of a tour to show the producers of a multi-million dollar movie around Broken Hill say it was a success.
Australian director Baz Luhrmann and Hollywood producer Dino De Laurentis came to Broken Hill on Wednesday to scout locations for their upcoming film Alexander the Great.
Film Broken Hill's project coordinator Andrew Plumer says they were very impressed by what they saw.
He says Luhrmann expressed interest in shooting some of the move in the centre of town.
"A bit of that's connected with the structure of the Line of Lode and with unused areas within the mine," he said.
"A lot of that I think is connected with a creative strategy that he's working on that we're not sort of privy to yet, but he's got some interesting ideas."
